Matcha originated in China during the Song dynasty. In the year 1191, the Buddhist monk Eisai brought ground tea to Japan, with the introduction of Buddhism (Zen). In the 16th century, matcha green tea powder became the star of the tea ceremony (chado or chanoyu): an extremely complex, tea-drinking ritual that celebrated simplicity, tranquility, and mutual respect. This powdered green tea is ideal for smoothies, desserts, lemonades.

Ingredients

Green tea processed as Tencha, shade grown, deveined and stone ground.

Preparation

Pass a measuring spoon of matcha through a strainer to leave fine powder, place in a bowl and pour 1/4 cup of hot water. Beat vigorously with the chasen for one minute. place the rest of the water and beat again. Ready!
